About This Project
Who runs this site, how the editor software is picked and versioned, what we test before publishing, and how to reach us.

What this site is
This website hosts the open-source PhotoCraft image editor in a browser-ready form, so you can edit a photo on any computer where installing software is not an option. It is an independent hosting project: the editor itself is developed by the ArtCraft team at github.com/storytold/photocraft, and this site is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the upstream authors.
We chose PhotoCraft because it is a genuine layer-based editor — text, masks, adjustments — that runs entirely client-side as a WebAssembly application. That architecture lets us keep one promise at the center of the site: your images are processed on your device and are never uploaded to us.
How we host the software
- Each editor is pinned to an official upstream release (currently v0.8.2) and served unchanged from a versioned path on this site.
- Before deployment we record the release package's SHA-256 hash and review what is inside. We do not modify the application itself.
- We do not automatically chase new versions. When an upgrade ships, it is published to a new versioned path only after we have tested it; the previous build stays in place until then.
What we test — and what we don't claim
Before publishing, we run a small repeatable acceptance test: open an image, edit it with layers, export it, and reopen the result in independent software. The limits stated on each page — device memory ceilings, bundled fonts, the absence of autosave on the web — come from that testing and from the upstream project's own documentation.
We do not publish user counts, ratings or reviews, because we do not have them. We do not claim format compatibility we have not checked.
Licensing and trademarks
The PhotoCraft software is licensed under MIT OR Apache-2.0, and the license files ship with the hosted application. The ArtCraft name and marks belong to the ArtCraft team; this site refers to them in plain text for attribution only. Screenshots labeled "upstream example" come from the upstream project's documentation.
Contact
This project is in final local acceptance. A public contact email will be published on this page and in the site footer at launch. Until then, the GitHub repository linked above is the right place for anything concerning the software itself.
